Random
is a place to come & hang out at lunchtime for pupils at Aldridge School…

It happens on Monday lunchtimes if
you’re in Years 7-9 and Tuesday lunchtimes for those in Years 10+. There’s normally 30-35 young people who turn up each day. You might
recognise some who come from the front page of this website.
It’s held
at No.4 Tynings Lane, a house owned by the church next door to it…

Yep! As
it happens just off the school site, you’ll need a lunchtime pass to be let out
the gate… Just ask your parent or guardian to sign a letter giving their
permission for you to come & take it to Resources next to the library to get a
pass. You can print off a letter
here

We eat
lots of food! Donuts, strawberries, crisps, grapes, chocolate, ice creams,
muffins, melons, popcorn, sausage rolls, apples, pot noodles, cookies, bananas,
plus all sorts of cans, cartons & juices… All the food & drink is free – just
come along & help yourself.

As it’s
lunchtime in the middle of the school day, it’s dead chilled - just come & spend
time with your mates. We sometimes get together for a short chat or activity
near the end. Recently we’ve been doing ‘Random Acts of Kindness’, an easy way
to do something simple for someone else to make their day a bit better…
At the
end of each lunchtime there’s a chance to have a quick pray together & ask God’s
help with anything that’s on our minds,
but only if you want to - you won’t be
expected to join in with that if it’s not your thing…

A few leaders from
Aldridge Youth Fellowship (AYF), a Christian youth group of over 100 young
people. You can check out their website
here.
Matt’s a leader at AYF & is at Random each week: email him at

or text him on 07855 960179 if you’ve got any questions. Although Random is run
by Christians, you don’t need to be a Christian or have any interest in God
to
come along – we’re just happy to provide somewhere for you to hang out at
lunchtime & get to know you a bit.
The only thing we ask is that you respect the
house we meet in & the other people who come along… that’s it!
